Demelza announces new partnership with Yoyo Design.

Demelza is pleased to announce a new partnership with web agency Yoyo Design.

The Tunbridge Wells-based company will be building Demelza a brand-new website, following the charity’s significant rebrand in March 2023.

The rebrand, the first since Demelza was established in 1998, was designed to help tackle the misconceptions surrounding children’s hospice care, providing a strong consistent visual presence in the community to enable them to reach and support more children, expand their service capacity, reach more care staff and grow income.

At the time of the rebrand, the existing website was reskinned to reflect the new look, but the accessibility and usability of the site were not reviewed. Now Demelza is ready to invest in the development of a new website, and after a stringent tendering process, Yoyo was appointed late last year.

Yoyo’s aim is to build a dynamic and user-friendly digital experience which will improve user experience by ensuring all content is accessible, friendly, engaging and easy to navigate, while also strengthening Demelza’s brand presence online and streamlining internal processes to reduce admin.

A big focus will be on optimising the overall experience to keep people informed and browsing for longer, as well as ensuring the site is future-proofed so it’s easy to keep relevant for years to come.

It is hoped these changes will result in an increase in referrals from prospective families and healthcare professionals, increased engagement from new and prospective donors and support the recruitment of staff and volunteers as well as encouraging public engagement in Demelza events and fundraising.

Yoyo CEO, Jenny Kitchen, said: “We know just how important Demelza’s role is in our local community – so much incredible work is done to support children and their families through the most difficult of times.

“The digital experience is critical to provide the right information to those families, at the right time, with simplicity and clarity.

“Working alongside the Demelza team to deliver that platform is a job we take very seriously and we’ve very much looking forward to being part of their journey.”

Yoyo Client Partner Daniel Barron said: “It’s not often you come across a team as clear and driven as Demelza’s.

“They have made it clear how important data-led decisions and transparency are to them. It’s a refreshing approach and has really set the tone for how we’ve been working together.

“What also stood out is their commitment to making sure all voices are heard.”
