Meet Ashley

Ashley joined Demelza in January 2017 and was appointed Director of Retail in June 2018. He now has over 17 years of charity retail experience, previously heading up the retail operations at Harris Hospice and St Christopher’s Hospice.

Ashley has delivered and overseen growth and mergers at his past charities. He has also managed multi-million-pound properties as part of the senior sales and operations teams for national providers. His project leadership included new site openings and re-fits along with opening new health and golf clubs.

He has managed momentous change in the past and here at Demelza. Under his direction, the number of retail locations has trebled, and income and portfolio development has lifted income by 50%.

He said, “I aim to make Demelza shops the best they can be to reflect the great care we provide. Our shops are a key part of our communities and the window to Demelza. We will offer a great shopping experience, great stock, and many opportunities to develop staff and volunteers. Our shops will be the best on our local high streets. We will be committed to sustainable shopping and the environment.

Our current strategy is ahead of schedule and planned growth has been delivered. We are focused on the current locations and a period of consolidation and embedding our new shops that have recently opened.”

As a father of two, family time is precious, and Ashley loves the great outdoors and travel with his children.
