School children have been supporting Demelza at a series of festive carolathons.

Over the last few weeks, youngsters have been out and about singing Christmas carols across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.

The schools have been joined at the events by Demelza staff and volunteers collecting for the charity.

The carolathons kicked off at the end of November in Bexleyheath and Maidstone and continued throughout the first two weeks of December, finishing up at Hempstead Valley in Gillingham last Friday.

Dozens of children from primary schools across the areas took part and altogether the events raised £3,330 for Demelza.

Regional Fundraiser Loren Regan said: “Our carolathons are always really enjoyable events and a great way to kick off the festivities each year.

“They are also a great chance for local school children to showcase their talents to a public audience, whilst fundraising for Demelza at the same time.

“We would like to thank all the schools and children who took part – we heard so many lovely comments from shoppers who enjoyed the festive feeling the carols brought to their day.”
