Hundreds of people came along to our Festive Elf Trail and market at the weekend.

Despite wet and windy weather, we welcomed more than 600 people to our Sittingbourne site on Saturday.

Visitors took part in a magical light trail which they followed around the gardens to track down some mischievous hiding elves.

There was a Christmas market with unique gifts, handcrafted goodies and festive delights sold by local traders.

Children also had the chance to meet Father Christmas at our accessible grotto and they were all given a luxury gift. Altogether the event raised more than £7,000!

Unfortunately, due to the high winds, the team had to make the difficult decision to cancel the same event on Sunday.

Head of Regional Fundraising and Events, Kat Cordrey, said: “We are so grateful to all our wonderful supporters who braved the miserable weather to come and support our event at the weekend.

“It was a great success and we’ve been really pleased to have had such positive feedback from many families who came along.

“We were disappointed to have to cancel Sunday’s event, but the safety of our supporters, volunteers and staff has to come first and we are very grateful for everyone’s understanding.

“We would also like to thank Kent Reliance, for being the sponsor of our Festive Elf Trail and Market and for their continued support.”
