Demelza is delighted to have opened two new charity shops in Orpington and Earl Street, Maidstone, expanding our shop offering to 31 shops in the South East.
Former Charlton Athletic, Chelsea and West Ham star and football pundit Scott Minto, who has supported Demelza for over 20 years, unveiled the Orpington Shop with an official cutting of the ribbon ceremony alongside Demelza's Director of Retail, Ashley.
The Orpington shop, in prime position at 309 High Street, is a haven of vintage and stylish finds, stocking clothes, shoes, media, toys and household items, as well as gifts, ornaments, accessories, seasonal products and bags.
Scott, who spent time chatting to staff and customers, said: “Glad I could play a very small part today and a really big well done to everyone at Demelza – the shop looks fantastic and I would encourage everyone to pop in, shop and donate to this amazing charity!”
In Maidstone, Demelza's retail team were joined by David, a Demelza volunteer, from nearby Tovil who opened the shop in Earl Street – this joins Demelza's current shop in the Royal Star Arcade, Maidstone. This store is a haven of vintage and stylish finds, stocking clothes, shoes, media, toys and household items.
David said:
“Whether you're employed by Demelza, you volunteer, you're kind enough to donate items that you no longer need, or you simply buy the goods in the shop, we're all working to one end. That is to make sure that children and their families get care and support when they need it."
Ashley Henson, Demelza’s Director of Retail said of the two shops: “Opening a new shop is such an exciting time for Demelza and all involved. There has been a huge effort by all teams - I’d like to thank everyone who has got us this far. We really are passionate about charity retail and offering exciting fashion and homewares to our customers with fantastic cost of living beating prices, while supporting the environment and greener retail. We welcome stock donations in these two stores now.”
