Demelza is delighted to share that three of our Practical Support Volunteers have been crowned Coronation Champions ahead of His Majesties Coronation Weekend! 

In honour of Their Majesties’ service to the country, Royal Voluntary Service launched the Coronation Champions Awards for volunteers, an official Coronation project.

Together with Her Majesty Queen Camilla, the awards celebrate extraordinary volunteers across the country who have been contributing to their communities.

Thousands of people aged from 14 to 103 from all over the UK and supporting a range of causes were nominated and from these nominations, 500 volunteers have been hand-picked by a judging panel presided over by Her Majesty Queen Camilla, and crowned Coronation Champions. We are delighted that this includes our three amazing practical support volunteers; Cathy, Chris and John.

All 500 Coronation Champions will receive a specially designed, official Coronation Champions pin and a signed certificate from His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla and are invited to attend one of the official Coronation celebrations, such as the Windsor Castle Coronation Concert or a Coronation Garden Party.

We are so thankful for the dedication, commitment and passion of our volunteers and know that our families are incredibly grateful for the difference they make in their lives too.
