Little dots goes to Dover
Demelza’s ‘Little Dots’ activity sessions offer service users under the age of five, the opportunity to come together, have fun, and enjoy a range of interactive games and activities – from soft play to creative arts.
Reaching more families in East Kent
We are thrilled that January saw our first Little Dots session take place in Dover. The inaugural ‘Dover Dots’ session saw five families attend from the East Kent area and was a huge success. The expansion of these sessions into Dover has been in the works for the past few months and we hope that this move will allow more families in East Kent access to this service.
Senior Health Care Assistant, Leanne Archer, shares: “Not only was it amazing to see the children we support having fun, but it was really wonderful to see how siblings from different families interacted and played with each other in a relaxed and playful environment. We were able to catch up with families that we hadn’t seen for a while, and parents were able to talk to each other. We arranged some craft activities, took our amazing POD sensory tent, had a badminton court set up, as well a soft play area with a huge bouncy castle and slide!
“Two of the families that attended have been messaging each other for over a year and a half, and were finally able to meet in person due to 'Dover Dots'. It was an amazing team effort to pull this off, but a special mention needs to go to our wonderful Nurse Associate, Becky Bristow, who managed to plan this while finishing off her university work as well as working within Demelza’s Care at Home Team.”
