After a staff vote that considered several impactful and significant local charities, Demelza is delighted to be the chosen charity of the year for London Golf Club!Â
At the heart of this collaboration is a shared commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children facing serious or life-limiting conditions and their families. By supporting Demelza, London Golf Club aims to contribute to the essential services provided by Demelza, such as offering short breaks, emotional support, and the creation of lasting memories for the children supported.
This partnership will include a calendar of events over the next 12 months. In addition to hosting a series of fundraising events between now and next January including two charity golf days. London Golf Club will promote Demelza to members and guests in a number of other ways – including donation tins in their golf shop, reception and Spike Bar, staff wearing Demelza pin badges as part of their uniform and a special charity dish on their menu.
London Golf Club’s chief executive, Stephen Follett, said: “We’re excited to have formed this new partnership and to be working with Demelza over the next 12 months.
Demelza delivers extraordinary care to extraordinary children who are facing serious or life-limiting conditions, and as a club, it is an honour to support and raise awareness for the great care to the children and young people and their families. I would encourage all our members and visitors to support the charity in any way they can."
As well as having opportunities to donate and fundraise, London Golf Club members and visitors will be encouraged to find out more about Demelza through events with plenty of opportunities for employee volunteering days.Â
Katie Hook, Regional Fundraising Manager at Demelza, said: "We are absolutely delighted that Demelza has been selected as the Charity of the Year by the London Golf Club.
This exciting partnership reflects the London Golf Club’s commitment to local charities, and our collaboration will provide a platform to raise awareness and vital funds to support children with serious or life-limiting conditions, from first diagnosis for as long as we’re needed.
We can’t wait to work together this year, thank you for so much for your support!"
