In April we are opening a new charity shop in Sevenoaks and we’re looking for retail volunteers to join our team. Volunteering in Sevenoaks is a great way to give back to your local community and the support the work that Demelza Hospice Care for Children does.

We are really lucky at Demelza to have an amazing group of volunteers working in our charity shops, creating spaces that our customers and supporters love. Whatever you would like to get out of volunteering, we are here to support you in making it happen. Whether you would like to gain retail work experience, build your confidence, share your own skills or meet new people – our voluntary services department will work with you to create the volunteer experience you are looking for.

Clare, a retail volunteer from Kent has been volunteering for other three years, helping out in our Rochester charity shop. This is what she had to say about volunteering for Demelza:

“If you’re thinking about volunteering, do it! I have gotten so much out of volunteering, I’ve gained communication skills and so much confidence. I’ve also got skills for my CV. At the end of the day, I feel tired but accomplished. It is so much more than the skills you gain, it is the sense of pride you feel at the end of the day.”
