The end of season Ultra Challenge®– in the ‘Garden of England’ – and you can fundraise for Demelza. A basecamp near Maidstone, with parking & weekend camping options, the main 50km looped route heads anticlockwise around the Kent Downs – starting on the North Downs, around picturesque Aylesford, and following the River Medway. Along to the majestic Leeds Castle, then the North Downs Way back to the show ground finish line celebration. It’s easily accessible; you’ll get full support; and with 25km & 10km options also available, there’s a Kent Downs Ultra Challenge® waiting for you!

Charity Sponsorship – you pay a small registration fee; do lots of fundraising and we cover the cost of your event place!
Mixed Funding – pay half of the event place cost yourself; fundraise a bit less and we pay the balance of the event place cost.
Self-Fund – you pay the full cost of the event place; fundraise whatever you want, with no set target or deadline, and there’s no cost at all to the charity!
When fundraising, we would advise that you set up a JustGiving page.
At least 50% of the ‘sponsorship target’ should be with the Demelza 3 weeks prior to the Challenge. Failure to meet the deadline may result in cancellation of your place. The remaining 50% and any extra, should be with Demelza by 4 weeks after the Challenge.
50km - aged 16 or over and accompanied by an adult
25km - aged 14 or over and accompanied by an adult
10km - aged 8 or over and accompanied by an adult
Under 18s taking part must be signed up by someone over 18.
Yes, parking is available at the main Kent Showground, which is the start and finish venue.
Ultra Challenge has a regular shuttle service running from Maidstone train station to take you to your start line at Kent Showground basecamp. Maidstone train station is the closest rail link and runs on the Southeastern Railway.
