We have a team of volunteers who are happy to share their skills to help in a way that works for you.
This could be helping with a small project such as painting a room or assembling furniture, mowing the lawn, or helping you get on top of housework. If transport is a challenge, our team of volunteer drivers are happy to help, for example getting your family to hospital appointments or to Demelza events or activities.
These services are for families who already access our services. If you're not currently supported by Demelza, complete our referral form to see how we can help.
Driving support
We understand that transport can be a worry sometimes and we can offer various solutions to support families. These include driving to hospital or clinical appointments, attending Demelza meetings or events, or prescription collections.
Gardening
Time outside has lots of benefits. But it can be difficult to keep on top of gardening when there are so many other things to worry about. Our practical support volunteers help with gardening and outdoor DIY.
Home support
Our volunteers can help with cleaning and organising in your home...or if the ironing pile is getting out of hand, Demelza volunteers can help to lighten the load.
DIY
There are always jobs to be done around the house, but DIY often becomes secondary when caring for a child. Our practical support volunteers can help with DIY jobs such as painting, putting up shelves and more.
Other support
We can also help with things such as shopping, food preparation or taking care of family pets. If there are any other tasks not listed here that you need help with please get in touch. There may be some tasks that are too big/complex for us to complete but we will do our best to support you.
