Bereavement Lead
Do you have the skills and experience to drive the development and growth of our bereavement services? We are looking for an experienced bereavement counsellor who will support Demelza’s service users and understand the processes of grief, loss and change and how best to help others deal with its impact.
Our Bereavement Lead will work with our Head of Therapies and Bereavement Service to deliver a bereavement service, ensuring systems and procedures are set up, using both innovative and evidence-driven practises to ensure consistency and quality.

Bereavement Counsellor
We are excited to be offering an opportunity for an experienced bereavement counsellor to join Demelza’s Family Support Department. We are looking for a compassionate, creative and skilled individual to provide sessions around anticipatory grief and to those that are bereaved.
This postholder will provide specialist bereavement counselling to all family members following the death of a child or young person at Demelza and will assess referrals for counselling support. They will support the safe and effective running of the Bereavement Service including the coordination of the bereavement programmes and events, and in partnership with the Bereavement Lead, will support and train staff and volunteers.
To be successful in this role you will be registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have experience of working therapeutically with adults and families. You will also have experience of working in a health care, social care or education setting.
